Invites, the waitlist and first setup, step by step. · Last checked: 19 October 2026

Step 1: get access

Two ways in while it is invite-only:

  • An invite from a current user. Each user gets a small number of invites to share.
  • The waitlist. Join at instinct.com. One Verge reviewer was approved within a couple of hours, but wait times vary - The Information reported a compute shortage on 10 September 2026, so there are no promises.

Step 2: sign in

Go to app.instinct.com and enter your mobile number. You get a 6-digit one-time code by SMS or WhatsApp - that code is the whole login. There is no password.

Step 3: pick your channel

  • iMessage - shows up as a normal blue-bubble conversation.
  • WhatsApp - you can link a WhatsApp number in settings; it can differ from your sign-in number.
  • SMS or a phone call - the same assistant, no smartphone tricks needed.

Save the number as a contact called "Instinct" so it is easy to find.

Step 4: start small

Advice that shows up in nearly every early review: begin with low-stakes errands (research, bookings you can cancel, small orders) before connecting your main email, calendar or card. Instinct asks before consequential actions - read those approval cards before tapping yes.
