Instinct rolls out Link balance for capped agent purchases in eligible US regions

Instinct and Link say Link balance is rolling out to Instinct users in eligible US regions, letting users fund a balance and set a per-purchase limit for agent purchases.

What happenedInstinct announced at 3:21 am MYT on 27 October that Link balance is live, built with Stripe and Link. Link's own announcement says the feature is rolling out to Instinct users in eligible US regions; Instinct says New York is coming soon.

How it worksUsers add money and choose the maximum amount their agent can spend per purchase without asking again. Purchases above that limit still require approval, and setting the limit to $0 stops skipped approvals. Link's setup guide says the balance is held in USDC and the amount added through a setup link must be $150 or less in USD.

Why it mattersThe feature moves agent shopping from approval at every checkout to limited delegated spending. The control is a per-purchase ceiling, not a cumulative budget, so the exact limit and approval behavior matter more than the balance headline.

Evidence limitsThe announced rollout is for eligible US regions only; the sources do not announce Malaysia availability. Link says setup requires identity verification, including an SSN check in the US, and its balance FAQ says account holders must be at least 18. Matt Huang said stablecoins on Tempo via Stripe Link power the feature underneath; Link's public setup docs confirm USDC but do not name Tempo. Link's terms say users are responsible for authorized agent-initiated transactions, including agent mistakes, except where the transaction results from Link's technical failure or error.
