Zocdoc has issued a dedicated release on its Instinct partnership, one day after announcing it is opening its healthcare access infrastructure to AI agents: booking through Instinct is described as rolling out in the coming weeks.
What happenedIn the 29 October release, Zocdoc says Instinct will use its healthcare access infrastructure to find vetted providers, verify insurance and book appointments on behalf of patients, connecting directly to Zocdoc's MCP server. Zocdoc founder and CEO Oliver Kharraz says agents can make getting care dramatically easier "only if they can reliably connect patients to real appointments with the right providers." Instinct chief business officer Ben Schwerin says "getting an appointment can be as simple as sending a text." Zocdoc says Instinct joins its Care Access Network alongside Google Gemini, Amazon Health AI, Yelp, Healthgrades and Blue Shield of California, that its traffic from AI agents has doubled roughly every 10 days since early September, and that its network covers more than 200,000 verified providers and 10,000+ insurance plans, with a typical appointment 24-72 hours from booking.
Why it mattersA direct, structured healthcare-booking channel would be a concrete new capability for a concierge agent beyond ordering and reservations - and Zocdoc is openly courting agents while, in its own words, others put up walls. Healthcare booking is higher-stakes than groceries or travel, which is why verified provider and insurance infrastructure matters if it works as described.
Evidence limitsThese are company press releases: all claims, statistics and the "first-of-its-kind" characterization are Zocdoc's own, and Schwerin's quote is Instinct's own marketing. The capability is not live - the release says "rolling out in the coming weeks" - and no countries, pricing, or Singapore or Malaysia availability are specified. First announced 28 October; this story was updated in place on 29 October with the dedicated Instinct release rather than duplicated.
